How to use the nail art designer
Start with the nail shape and length; they apply to the whole hand, and every layer follows the new outline. Then pick the nail you want to paint, by tapping it on the hand, using the Thumb to Little buttons, or pressing keys 1 to 5. The close-up on the right is the nail you are editing.
The tabs are layers, painted in this order: Colour (polish and finish), Ombré (a fade from the cuticle to the tip, or side to side), Pattern (polka dots or stripes), French tip (a smile line, a V tip or a half moon at the cuticle), Glitter, Stamps (hearts, stars, leaves, flowers, berries, moons and sparkles) and Brush strokes on top.
In Stamps, tap the close-up to place a stamp, or press Add stamp; the arrow buttons, size and turn sliders change the selected one. In Brush, drag on the close-up to paint. Keyboard users can focus the close-up, move with the arrow keys (Shift for bigger steps) and press Space to put the brush down or lift it, or use the ready-made strokes.
Copy to all nails repeats the current nail on the other four; Edit all five at once sends every change to all of them. Undo and Redo (Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Shift+Z) cover everything.
Example: for an accent nail, choose Almond and Medium, select Ring, set the colour to Bramble berry, open Stamps, choose Bramble flower in Ballet and press Add stamp, then nudge it up twice. Save it, or download the nail chart PNG to show your nail technician.
